The Top of the World, with Don Geiss

A disturbing dream, in which I was two characters at once. I woke up in a cold sweat, and am so very confused...

There was a young girl, who fell in love with Don Geiss (the founder and CEO of NBC from 30 Rock). Except, this Don was a disheveled and lonely Don. He was a broken man with all the riches in the world and no one to share them with. He found joy in spending time with this young girl, who reminded him so much of the daughter he had once lost. He told her stories of his travels, his business, his legacy. He relived the past through the present in conversation with her. She was his last morsel of happiness. There was just so much pain in his soul.

They sat on the steps of a plaza on an uppermost level of a high rise building (do those exist?). The sun was setting on the horizon and it was warm despite the light breezes. The conversation paused, and she leaned back on the step and gazed happily along the outline of the buildings against the orange sky. He smiled upon her, and then his smile faded away as he saw the sparkle in her eyes when she turned to look at him.

The girl didn't see the pain in Don's soul. Rather, through her naivety, she saw the success and power, and the envy of others around Don. She saw a man who gave her undivided attention when he gave attention to no others. She saw the gifts, the elegant diction, the impressive suits, and the authority. She sat up there on the rooftop, completely satisfied to be in the presence of a man so exclusive to her.

There was also a man in the corner of her eye, slightly above herself and Don, who seemed to be watching the sunset too. He was a well-dressed man, in a suit, but the angle made it hard to tell who he was or what he was really doing. She returned her attention to Don, and she asked him to tell her more about his daughter. There was nothing she enjoyed more than hearing him speak. It didn't matter what he said, or how he said it, she adored every bit of anything he could say.

He looked off into the distance and the sun was beginning to disappear. She looked too, and suddenly, a shockingly cold breeze traveled through her. Just as she looked up, she saw the body of the man above fall into the loop of a noose. It bounced once, twice, and then hung motionless. She panicked, looked at Don, and screamed for him to LOOK! She screamed and screamed wildly, and he would not look. He kept his distanced gazed straight-ahead while she cried hysterically, until his face fell into his hands. He would not look.

The girl realizes the man was Don.

Batteries & Screwdrivers

I just had a badass dream. One of the most badass dreams I've ever had, and it happened in a matter of exactly 15 minutes - between snoozes. It was so badass that I actually STOPPED snoozing so I could type everything up. And the sucky part is, that I lost some of the earlier details while Windows was loading.

I was on the Earth Air Force, and he was part of some super human half-robot race that we were battling against for universal domination. Very Star Trek/District9-like. We met repeatedly in battle and something happened like love at first sight, and he was super hot and muscular. When I looked in his eyes I could tell he was different, and unlike his barbarous peers. People of his kind were unable to touch alkaline batteries and screwdrivers, so we scattered those items all over our base to ward off the super powerful creatures. I was very capable of deadly hand-to-hand combat, and some sort of high-ranking officer. YES!

One night, before we were to take off for the epic, final, most grandeur battle ever, he sneaks into my base and into my quarters. I can sense his presence, but when he comes into my room I pretend like I’m still sleeping because I’m absolutely petrified, yet at the same time enthralled. I’m holding two D-sized batteries in my fist under my pillow but I unclench them and move my hands because I realize that I don’t want to hurt him, and I don’t think he’ll hurt me. I keep fake-sleeping as he creeps around in my room and examines my belongings, and the longer he’s there the more intense everything becomes. Finally he comes over to my bed and he just looks at me for a while - hovering. And it’s awkward, but I’m still fake sleeping. And then he leans in and kisses me, one of those dreamy movie kisses of forbidden love. Then he touches my hand, and is burned by the residue of the battery acid. At this point I am forced to feign awakening, and he explains that he had sleep-flown there and awoken in my room.

Like destiny.

All at once, we understood the incredible danger we were now both in. We also knew that he must return to his necromancer-like people, as it was late in the night and both sides were set to embark very soon. We were feeling this pressure and emotional torment just as one of my colleagues bursts into the room shocked and confused. This is where I wake up.

Holy Crap!!!!

Dog Dream

Last night, I dreamt that I had a cute little teacup dog with short white hair and it was soooo cute and obedient and fun. I brought it everywhere (I'd do this if I had a real dog) because it fit in my purse and I loved it soooo much! At some point, I turned the dog over and realized that its stomach had been sutured with green velvet ribbon. I freaked out and asked my mom what happened, and she explained that she'd sewn it up.

So I undid the ribbon and THERE WAS A HEALED GASH DOWN THE ABDOMEN - an opening where you could reach in and access vital organs! It was horrifying, and very sad. I was really upset..

At the end of the dream, my brother cooked and ate my dog.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
