The Invention of Lying

I saw The Invention of Lying at a preview screening earlier, and I have to say it didn't live up to my expectations - and my expectations were low. The storyline was weak, and I only chuckled a few times (it was a comedy, right?). Not worth theatre-time, but thank goodness it was free.

OH - and, because we arrived relatively late we ended up sitting in the front row. Never again.

And the Weekend of Surprises Continues...

Today was Patrick's (surprise) birthday party. He and Mary have three well-behaved dogs that LOOOVE to play, and I LOOOOOVE dogs!! Their house was very nice and they had a covered deck which was perfect because it was about 90 degrees! MJ, Rockband, ping-pong, the pig-game, the slapping game, and Guesstures (which btw V & I are SO GOOD at together) all day and all night. Of course there was lots of food, and booze. It was an amazing time, and I feel so fat from all of the delicious eats - I think I ate most of the baked artichoke spinach dip. I love sunny days with great company. +)

Pa-Pa-Pa-Po-ker-Face

Chad came back from Oregon today! We played Cranium and poker at Brian's house, and drank and were merry. There were delicious snacks - junk food and rice krispies! Fun times drawing Sanrio characters on the table cloth, and staring wide-eyed with jaws dropped at the graphic scenes from Trainspotting. Ewan McGregor's accent is hypnotic, which reminds me I have yet to finish Long Way Down.

Today I learned that Prohibition beer is disgusting, and I have a really bad poker face. It was a surprise slumber party, but I didn't stay the night. We actually had a party planning committee meeting earlier in the week, but most of our planned activities fell through. +( Definitely a wild time anyway though - just hanging out with the people we know and love, and being ourselves. Love it! Games, alcohol, pajamas, and the homies! Does it get any better? I think not.

Dan Brown Has Got Me Again!

150 pages of The Lost Symbol in one sitting. New words: "piqued" & "redact", and the (not-s0) secret brotherhood of Masonry! Brown never ceases to amaze me with his short, suspenseful chapters and the NARROW ESCAPES he so vividly and realistically describes. I haven't been excited about books in a few months. THANK YOU DANNY!

Update [09/26]:
Finished, but will not blog about it - so as to not "spoil".

Selk Bag - The Coolest Sleeping Bag Ever

After I zipped up the hands I instinctively got down on all fours and started crawling around - I'm not sure why.

SF 49er's vs. Seahawks (GAME2)

During the game, some unfortunate drunk was carried out of our section unconscious. The seats were fantastic, Lower Boxes - behind the 49ers bench! Gorgeous weather and calm people, I hate sitting next to the ridiculously rowdy.

SIDEWAYS BRAT. Delicious! Such an exciting game, and we won!! The energy was insane, LOOK AT THAT SEA OF RED! The camera man was being pushed along the track by two assistants, no technology necessary - I thought that was comical.

How does a stadium parking lot not have section markers?? It took two hours to get home, but was well worth the trouble. All in all, a spectacular Sunday.
